Fresh from the season 2 finale of Revenge where viewers witnessed a hefty dose of heartbreak, death, big reveals and even explosions, already fans can no longer keep their excitement for season 3 to unfold.

Good thing the show has officially signed for another season so the iconic drama is 100 per cent sure to make its return engagement by fall.

As all Revenge fans know, show creator Mike Kelley won't be returning in season 3 and will be replaced by the show's executive producer Sunil Nayar.

Before he bowed out, though, Kelley left a parting message for Revenge fans to chew on. He mentioned of "new big bad, different enemies," as he discussed his hopes for the next season. As if the Initiative is not handful enough, there's still more. He also mentioned something about Emily having to deal with "her father's imperfections." Of course it would be too naive to assume anybody's faultless, but how will Emily's realisations about her father affect her revenge plans now?

As fans await the answers to these questions, here are five more reasons why season 3 is worth the wait.

1. Jack Learns Of Emily's True Identity

The list is getting longer. Now even Jack knows Emily's true identity - that she's the real Amanda Clarke. He had it the first time he discovered Emily and Amanda (real Emily) were best friends from way back. Seeing what Emily has just put him through, would it be easy for him to take the truth and forgive? How will this confession change their relationship and will he keep her secret?

2. Is Aiden dead?

The last scenes of season 2 saw Daniel and Aiden fight it out in Emily's place. Aiden was winning but decided to give his foe a pass to live, which the ex-poet would not do to him as he grabbed the gun on the floor. Next scene was Daniel coming to Conrad's speech with blood on his sleeve. Was he successful in killing Aiden? Losing Declan was quite enough that fans wont' probably take another death at the start of the new season.

3. Victoria's Long Lost Son

Viewers had a glimpse of the intriguing man as he showed up by Victoria's door in the remaining minutes of season 2 finale. Interestingly, some fans were earlier predicting he could be the Falcon. There's a big chance he'll play a major part in season 3 and hopefully, his role will be juicy enough to keep the suspense meter up.

4. Nolan Behind Bars

No thanks to Padma Lahari - who appeared to have been forced by the Initiative to carry out her dying act on video - Nolan Ross is now behind bars. She called him a "blind disciple" of David Clarke and ended by saying "Nolan is Americon Initiative." Double whammy for our favourite geek for not only is he heartbroken, he's also in deep trouble with the FBI. Good for him he has a martial arts expert for best buddy, it will not be surprising if he's out of those bars soon enough. Incidentally, since Nolan and Emily spent considerable time together in season 2, there are now insinuations that a Nemily romance could also be explored in the future. Is this possible? Seriously, we hope not.

5. Ashley's Change Of Heart

Being associated with the Graysons for so long, it was time for Ashley to jump the fence by teaming up with Jack in the latter part of season 2. Her loyalty was obvious when she freely let Jack with his plot to assassinate Conrad. In a recent interview, actress Ashley Madekwe said that there is indeed a "huge loyalty shift." "Her allegiance will definitely be tested once more in season 3," she said. Will she stay in Jack's side for good?
