"Reign" is returning this week with Season 2. The last season ended on the news of fast spreading plague. Also, Francis got on his horse and rode away despite Mary warning him about the return of the plague. He rode away to be at Lola's side during her difficult childbirth. There is no time jump and the episode 1 of the new season is about dealing with the Black Death. The title of episode 1 is "The Plague."

Here are the five spoilers of "Reign" Season 2:

Lola has given birth to a baby boy and she is alive too. Francis will be returning to the castle with Lola and their new born child. However on his way back to the castle, he will have to protect himself, Lola and the baby from the Black Death. It will be interesting to see if Mary would allow the gates to open for Francis, her friend and the baby.

In the absence of Francis, Mary, the new Queen of France, will emerge as the leader. The murderous foes will come knocking when the death count due to the plague starts to rise.

Kenna and Bash get separated. The preview clip and the synopsis indicate that Kenna goes to check on the young boy in a room. The boy has become infected with plague. This endangers Kenna's life, as well. The castle guards close the door of the room, not allowing her to come out as they fear she has been infected as well.

Greer will find out that Leith is involved with her fiancé's Castleroy's daughter, Yvette.

The new season of "Reign" will see the introduction of four new characters. These characters include King Henry and Catherine's daughter, Princess Claude. She is younger to Francis but very sexually advanced. Also, Catherine's new sparring partner Narcisse will be introduced. TV Line's spoiler report suggest that she will be falling in some trouble in the castle. If his mother gets a sparring partner, Francis will get a friend called Conde. Spoiler reports reveal that an unusual friendship will develop between these two. If there is a friend, there is an enemy too lurking in the corner. Prince Thomas is going to be introduced as someone who could be the next king of France.

"Reign" Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Oct. 2.
