The Philippine government has ordered a ban on the showing of violent, porn and racy movies in buses plying all roads.

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) signed a memorandum of agreement launching a drive against bus operators which screen movies that are inappropriate for young audiences.

The move was launched following complaints from concerned passengers claiming that some bus operators screen movies inside buses that depict pornography or some very violent scenes.

Part of the program is to distribute stickers and signs that informs buses of the directive.

MTRCB chairwoman Grace Poe Llamanzares warned that bus operators caught violating the agreement will face a $100 fine or the revocation of their franchise.

"We want to warn bus drivers and operators that our operatives will be monitoring the enforcement of this new rule. I advise bus drivers and operators to follow this directive and not to show movies inappropriate for kids or they will face the consequences," Llamanzares said.
