The latest update for “Overwatch” has rolled out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The patch contains minor bug fixes as expected. While this might excite a lot of players, some were disappointed since this update did not include the new playable hero Doomfist.

As seen on the Overwatch forums, the July 11 update only had bug fixes for Pharah’s voice line, as well as Orisa’s ultimate charge gain while her Supercharge ability is being used, writes The Bitbag. The update is the same as the one released for the PC last June. Doomfist’s absence in this latest patch is reportedly due to the character still being calibrated for the PC PTR to tone down some of his overpowered abilities.

According to the PlayStation site, Doomfist can result to some good offense if he consistently deals damage. His skill set has the potential to attract a lot of players who'd go for reckless and individual tactics, which a lot of members of the Overwatch community scorn. Fans earlier expected Doomfist to be a tank hero, but it looks like he is an offense one. He has special abilities, all damaging skills that can disrupt and displace enemies.

Just like Reaper, Doomfist has a 250 health pool and has his own way of staying healthy during fights. His passive skill, The Best Defense, gives him temporary shield health if he is able to carry out his abilities successfully. This is what assures Doomfist’s damage and survivability.

In his initial form, Doomfist can easily pulverize offense and support heroes. He can also do considerable damage to tank heroes of his Rocket Punch lands, which can launch them to a wall. The range of this ability was toned down, but it's still strong. Developers could tweak his skills further to make sure his abilities do not cause any imbalance.

Once Doomfist gets fully implemented on servers, players will not have a favourite option for aggressive gameplans. His abilities are designed to be combined with each other to deal serious damage while being able to seamlessly move around at the same time. He is also hard to kill since he is rewarded with temporary shield health when he lands his abilities.
