Optus to offer new mobile broadband plans
Scheme has different prices peak for and off-peak use
Optus, the telecommunications company, announces its new range of mobile broadband plans. The payment schemes, which start at $A20, differentiate between peak and off-peak usage.
The new cap plans from give users the chance to get more mileage off their monthly quotas through off-peak usage. Using the service during off-peak hours is priced at about half the normal rate.
The $A20 plan is good for 1GB for peak hours use, or 2GB when exclusively used during off-peak hours.
Off-peak are from midnight to noon for fixed broadband services. Other plans on offer are $A30 (3/6GB), $A50 (7/14GB), $A80 (9/18GB) and $A100 (10GB/20GB). All contracts have a duration of 24 months.
