Olympic Champion Grant Hackett has been dropped by Alannah and Madeline Foundation due to his recent drinking rage situation. Grant Hackett was an ambassador for the said charitable institution.

This decision came after PerthNow released images that showed a devastating scene after the police arrived in the early hours of October 30, 2011 after attending Derby Day celebrations. Candice Alley, the ex-wife of Grant Hackett was the one who made the call and she was at home together with tgheir 2-year old twins, Charlize and Jagger. The images featured the different parts of their Southbank, Melbourne penthouse that were a total wreck. There were smahed pictures and furnitures, punctured doors and walls, and his wife's grand piano overturned.

John Bertrand, the chairman for the Alannah and Madeline Foundation released a statement regarding their decision stating ""The Alannah and Madeline Foundation advised Grant's management last week of our decision to relieve him of his duties as an Ambassador, as part of our continuous review of our Ambassador strategy and their roles and public responsibilities with us.'' He also remarked on Grant's role stating "Grant was very committed to his role with us and we thank him for the work that he has done". In terms of Grant's response, the Chairman remarked that Grant's management accepted their decision.

On the other hand, Channel 9 has decided that they would still go through having Grant Hackett as one of Nine's specialist Olympic commentators thus making him a part of the network's broadcasting team. When asked about their comments regarding the scandal, Victoria Buchan, the head of publicity for Channel 9 refused to comment on the issue.

Grant Hackett is known as a top Australian swimmer with a total of 3 Olympic gold medals at his belt for swimming. Hackett and his former wife, singer-songwriter got married last 2007.
