Pollsters failed to predict the victory of Republican candidate Donald Trump over rival Hillary Clinton in the Nov 8 presidential election in the US. However, followers of the predictions of the ancient prophet Nostradamus claim he foresaw the billionaire’s poll victory.

Thegamersdrop cites Nostradamus’s writing in Century III, Quatrain 81 that “The great shameless, audacious bawler. He will be elected governor of the army: The boldness of his contention. The bridge broken, the city faint from fear.”

Another passage is that in Century 1, 40, which predicts “The false trumpet concealing madness will cause Byzantium to change its laws. From Egypt there will go forth a man who wants the edict withdrawn, changing money and standards.”

However, the 16th century prophet’s other followers thought it was Clinton who would win because of Century VIII, Quatrain 15’s reference to a “masculine woman.”

But an old blind Bulgarian mystic with an 85 percent accuracy has apparently bad news for Trump because she predicted outgoing US President Barack Obama would be the last US president. Baba Vanga correctly predicted the 44th president of the US would be an African-American, the rise of the Islamic State and 9/11, News.com.au reports.

The prediction of Baba Vanga, who died at 85 years old in 1996 and is called the Nostradamus from the Balkans, that Obama would be the last American president has led to end-of-the-world speculations or the possibility of the US changing its political system. Like Baba Vanga, Nostradamus also predicted Obama would be the last US president, Thenortheasttoday notes.

But Trump’s ascent to power – despite his friendship with Russian President Vladimir Putin – may not end speculations of a World War III. Gamesdrop cites reports that Trump’s vision for the US includes increasing to 540,000 the number of active duty soldiers and hike the navy’s strength to 350 vessels.

The incoming 45th US president plans to boost the US Air Force jet battalion to 1,200. To combat threats from Iran and North Korea, Trump plans to acquire contemporary destroyers.

The year 2016 is one when many global events would happen, and one of it is World War III which would break out between two major world powers and last for 27 years, followers of Nostradamus’s prediction warn. The prophet wrote: “The moment of great violence will coincide with the appearance of a comet in the sky. Nuclear combat and natural disasters shall strike our planet when a giant planet approaches Earth,” Thenortheasttoday quotes.
