The lawyer of Robert Rihmeek Williams, the rapper professionally known as Meek Mill, recently talked about the seriousness of his client’s relationship with Onika Tanya Miraj, more popularly known as Nicki Minaj. His client was recently in court on a probation violation.

Talking to the judge, Mill’s lawyer pointed out that his client and Minaj, who took the stand on behalf of Mill, are serious about getting married. The lawyer also told the judge that the “Anaconda” rapper would not marry someone who is a bum or a criminal, TMZ reports.

As one of the conditions of his parole, Meek is required to get approval before travelling since he is on probation for a 2009 drug and gun conviction. However, he violated the rules by leaving Philadelphia to attend the 2015 American Music Awards.

Hosted by “American Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez, the AMAs was held on Nov. 22 in Los Angeles, California, in which Minaj and her album, “The Pinkprint,” won Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album. Mill was not nominated for any of the categories. The two rappers have yet to confirm whether or not they are engaged despite rumours surrounding Nicki's huge diamond ring.

Meanwhile, Mill’s collaboration song “Fighting Stronger” with Jhene Aiko and Ludwig Goransson from the soundtrack of the movie “Creed,” is one of the 74 songs being considered for Best Original Song in the 2016 Academy Awards, according to Hollywood Reporter.

Also from the “Creed” soundtrack album being considered is “Waiting for My Moment” by Aiko, Goransson, Donald Glover and Vince Staples.
