During her InStyle interview, Dakota Fanning defends her co-star Kristen Stewart from the cheating scandal that she's been into last July.

Kristen Stewart finds a new friend in her "Breaking Dawn" co-star Dakota Fanning. The young star who plays the role of Jane in the hit vampire movie was quick to defend her co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

"Everyone thinks they have the right to, you know, publicize the struggles and sadness and heartbreak and all of that," Dakota said. "It's like, 'Why do you think you are the authority to judge people's experiences?'"

Apart from opening up about Kristen, Dakota who has already worked with big names such as Steven Spielberg, Robert DeNiro and Denzel Washington revealed the secret behind her success.

"Why have I been able to stay sane in a sometimes insane world? The pure love of what I do. Making movies," the young actress said.

Dakota who has already made 30 films and was the youngest nominee for a Screen Actors Guild Award becomes even more impressive with her humble and clean lifestyle. She has managed to avoid the pitfalls that were encountered by other stars that started young such as Lindsay Lohan and Macaulay Culkin.

Talking about her choice of projects, Dakota admits that she's always been more drawn with heavier materials.

"I've always been drawn to material that's more kind of heavy, you know? Whether it be dark or dramatic or sometimes disturbing. And that can be hard to do when people think you're still a kid," she said.

Her parents were highly criticized back in 2006, when they allowed Dakota to film a rape scene in the movie "Hounddog."

Meanwhile, when it comes to love life, Dakota has kept herself under the radar. She's only had one boyfriend and is now currently single.

"You know, I'm not the kind of girl or person who really wants boyfriends in my life," she told the magazine that will hit the stands on December. "I'm also the kind of person... I'm very black and white in what I feel and I don't wanna be with someone that I don't foresee spending a long time with."
