Ghost Games has just confirmed that the Windows version of "Need for Speed" will be delayed to spring 2016. It is believed that the game developers opted to delay the game's release to avoid disappointing its fan base for not having the top-of-the-line visual settings it is expected to feature.

It is a fact that frame rate capping is a very crucial part of racing games, as pointed out by Tech Times. Accurately executing the vehicle's tight turns can be easily thrown off by jittery fluctuations in the set speeds, at which the game delivers new images. In order to obtain smooth peaks and valleys in frames per second, Ghost Games needs to have a set frame rate.

"Need for Speed" developers have been asking around and collecting feedback about the game. The game is going to be out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 3 in North America, while the rest of the world will be getting its hands on the game on November 5. While waiting for the game's official release, avid "Need for Speed" gamers took it upon themselves to contact Ghost Games and call for uncapped frame rates.

For such request to be met, Ghost Games decided to move the game's PC release to spring 2016. "This decision on PC gives us the necessary development time to increase the visuals that we can deliver on PC," the studio announced in the Need for Speed blog.

Although releasing paid DLC content is certain, Ghost Games revealed that there are also plans to release free content for the game. "We will include free content updates and challenges as ever-present ways for you to earn rewards and continually explore the game," the studio added.

Although the game's Windows version will not be out until spring of 2016, PC gamers with a current generation console can enjoy a beta copy of the game on PS4 and Xbox One. This beta period is expected to begin in "the coming weeks."
