"NCIS" Season 11, Episode 24, the season finale titled "Honour Thy Father," airs May 13 on CBS. Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette and other members of the NCIS cast promote the tribute to Ralph Waite on Twitter. NCIS executive producer Gary Glasberg, meanwhile, shares the backstory with the show's avid viewers.

The eleventh season finale is "about Gibbs," Glasberg wrote in Entertainment Weekly. The EP also noted, "There's no doubt [NCIS] season eleven has been a season of surprises; Ziva's departure, Bishop's arrival, the launch of NCIS: New Orleans."

It seems there will be no shocking news and cliffhangers in NCIS Season 11, Episode 24, based on Glasberg's insights. He did, however, mention a special sighting in Leroy Jethro Gibbs' (Mark Harmon) basement.

NCIS fans who have watched all NCIS episodes that featured Ralph Waite as Jackson Gibbs are in for an emotional finale. The late actor and Mark Harmon have such a strong father-son chemistry on TV.

"You'd see little crinkles, little skips, little different things," Harmon described Waite on the NCIS set. "But when someone said, 'Action,' and the camera got turned on, you'd better be bolted to the floor, because he was going to take you into the next county," Harmon told FOX News.

Based on Glasberg's notes, it seems those hoping for at least a Cote de Pablo cameo will be disappointed.

On Twitter, NCIS fans are still tweeting #BringBackZiva. However, there has been no indication that the NCIS Season 11 finale will feature Cote de Pablo as Ziva David. (Jackson and Ziva met in Stillwater in NCIS Season 6, Episode 4, titled "Heartland.")

On IMDB, there is no 2014 entry under Cote's projects, other than the post-production of "The 33." This means that those hoping for a special participation are likely to be disappointed.

Speaking to FOX News, Gary Glasberg said the NCIS Season 11 finale story ends the chapter "on solid ground." He noted the ending is not about "playing games in any way."
