Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has done so many great things all throughout his professional football career, not only for himself, but for the entire football industry as well.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Ronaldo will be opening a museum dedicated to none other than himself. The said museum will be situated on the island where he was born, Madeira. The museum will showcase the awards, honours, and achievements he had received up to date.

We wonder if he will allocate a place in his museum for the 2013 Ballon D'Or Award, where he is a major contender alongside long-time rival Lionel Messi of FC Barcelona. Many football fanatics believe that Ronaldo would finally beat Messi now that the voting has been extended.

On Monday, Ronaldo was awarded the Liga de Futbol Profesional (LFP). The latest award he had received which is expected to have its rightful place in his museum.

"The museum is a dream from Cristiano," said a source close to the 28-year-old Portuguese footballer's family, as reported by Goal.com. According to the source, Ronaldo wanted to give something back to Madeira in return. He was born in Santo Antonio, which is located in Funchal, Madeira. The source further revealed that Ronaldo was the one who thought of the idea of building a museum, with the help of his mother Maria Dolores.

At present time, Ronaldo is in Madeira, working on the museum while still recuperating on his injury. He arrived on Madeira on the wee hours of Tuesday morning with boxes packed full of his personal memorabilia, awards, some photographs, and other previous prizes he won during his amateur football career.

He is expected to fly to Spain next week to accompany the rest of the Real Madrid team in its trip to Osasuna in La Liga on Dec. 14. Then, he will be back to Madeira for the inauguration of his museum on Dec. 15.
