Many people are going to go out with their friends on New Year’s Eve to a party or a bar to ring in 2022, whether they plan to celebrate 2021 accomplishments or just want to be optimistic for a better year ahead. However, there are some people with no New Year’s plans who just want to watch a good movie on Netflix. Here are the best movies to ring in 2022.

“About Time” 

When Tim (Domhnall Gleeson) finds out from his father (Bill Nighy) the men in his family possess the ability to time travel Tim goes back in time to fix a botched New Year’s Eve kiss. Tim then uses his newly discovered power to get a second chance at awkward conversations and fall in love with the girl of his dreams.

“The Dirt”

This hilarious dramedy about how Mötley Crüe became one of the biggest bands in the world is a must-watch for any fan of the band or classic rock in general. Watch how these four LA misfits live through the highs and lows of music superstardom. 

“Bad Teacher” 

Cameron Diaz plays a foul-mouthed boozy woman who can’t wait to marry rich and quit her job as an educator but her plans are ruined when her sugar daddy dumps her. She then devises a scheme to get with a substitute teacher named Scott Delacorte (Justin Timberlake) but faces competition from another colleague. 

“Step Brothers”

Brennan Huff (Will Ferrell) and Dale Doback’s (John C. Reilly) are both lazy middle-aged unemployed leeches who live off their parents. When Brennan’s mom marries Dale’s dad, the pair’s childish behavior threatens to tear their new family apart. 

“The Disaster Artist”

“Rush” 

In the mid-1970s, Formula 1 Racers James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) and Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl) share an intense rivalry, pushing themselves to each other’s breaking points and risking their lives with every lap they take on the race track.

“The Interview”

TV host Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapaport (Seth Rogan) are the team behind the popular show “Skylark Tonight” who find out North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is a big fan of their show and set up an interview with him, hoping to legitimize themselves as actual journalists when a CIA agent asks the pair to use their platform to assassinate the Korean leader.
