The latest challenge has arrived in “Mortal Kombat X” Android. A new skin is coming for Reptile, and it’s the Kraken Reptile Gold Card challenge.

As with other “Mortal Kombat X” challenges, there are the usual towers to get through and the two modes to finish. This will enable players to get Kraken Reptile twice and fuse the Gold Card to Level 1 Fusion for the duration of the challenge.

Kraken Reptile: Is he worth getting?

For the most part, any character offered as a Challenge Card is worth getting. Apart from providing a new set of towers that players can enjoy going through, it also gives an extra new Gold Card that will otherwise be inaccessible to “Mortal Kombat X” players. Playing through the challenge also lets fans get the necessary number of Challenges needed to complete the daily objectives.

So far, developer NetherRealm Studios has been delivering new Gold Cards to the Android version of the game. Looking closer at Kraken Reptile, he has the passive that is great for defensive and offensive attacks.

For beginners, “Mortal Kombat X” challenges like this are harder to overcome. There are towers that ask for specific cards, which could either be Gold Cards or a set of cards that are not necessarily strong yet. Here are a few choice tips to help fans see and gauge how far they can play the Kraken Reptile challenge given a beginner’s set of cards in the Kollection.

Kraken Reptile features the Acidic Blood passive. This deals unavoidable damage when the opponent hits Reptile with any attack. This is made possible with acid blood splashes with every hit, though this does not consistently appear whenever Kraken Reptile is hit.

How to get Kraken Reptile for beginners

For the five towers, Tower I, II and III are the same as previous challenges. These require Bronze tier characters, Silver and Bronze tier characters and Silver tier characters respectively.

The fourth tower requires an entire team made up of Outworld characters. Finally, the fifth tower requires Sub-Zero to be on the player’s team.

For beginner players, getting through the first three towers is easy depending on the number of cards in the deck. Thanks to the regular login bonuses, even beginner players have a chance to pick a Bronze character among the options in the Test Your Luck section.

Players will limited number of cards will have to go through a bit of a grind. Going through the earlier Battle Modes can yield Koins and Souls, which can be used to get the Silver Sub-Zero. There are also Gold Sub-Zero cards, like Cryomancer Sub-Zero, Grandmaster Sub-Zero and Klassic Sub-Zero.

Take advantage of the Daily Objectives

NetherRealm Studios has recently revamped the daily challenges that “Mortal Kombat X” Android players can accomplish. Previously, there were only three challenges that yield Soul rewards.

This time, there are now a set of 12 objectives that can be completed in a day. Clearing each one can yield either Koins or Souls, depending on the difficulty. The Koins can help beginner players grind to buy and fuse strong Silver characters. For those aiming to complete the Difficult Mode can also try to collect Souls from these challenges to buy the Kombat Pack, which has one Gold Card and two accessory cards.

The only down side to those who want to get the Kombat Pack is that there is no guarantee which Gold Card it will yield.

One glitch that players can try to aim for is the occasional Kard Pack glitch. Usually, the Kard Pack will yield any of the Silver Cards available. But on occasion, it can yield either the Gold Nimble Reptile or the Gold Cryomancer Sub-Zero. This happens at random, and usually after the player has purchased a couple of Kard Packs that contain Silver cards.

Interestingly, whether or not this is a new glitch, but A-List Johnny Cage may also pop out from one of the Kard Packs. Previously, fans have already been buzzing even before about the Gold Sub-Zero and Reptile skins from the Kard Packs. Players should note that the author managed to come across the A-List Johnny Cage following all Silver Cards (except those obtainable via the Test Your Luck like Klassic Kitana) have already been fused to the Max level. This is a great bonus, considering that A-List Johnny Cage is worth 270 Souls in the store.

Logging into the game twice per day—first between 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the second time from 2 p.m.to 5 a.m.—can already give players six Souls every day. Players can also make sure to log in the Multiplayer mode and win a Normal Battle in Faction Wars for three Souls or win 12 matches in the Challenge mode or in Battle mode for four Souls.
