"Halo 5: Guardians" won't be out until 2015 for the Xbox One, but it seems that Microsoft is ready to give a few more details before E3 2014 comes.

"When we left him [Master Chief] in Halo 4, he's in a really challenging position. He's questioning many things he once firmly believed were true," said Frank O' Connor, development director for 343 Industries as quoted by The Guardian. "He lost his best friend, he's questioning his past and his purpose, he's [questioning] who he is fighting for."

Another interesting take-off point from the interview is that, this crossroads that Master Chief is now looking at may actually affect "Halo 5: Guardians." Master Chief pondering his purpose with what he's doing may be a key ingredient to making "Halo 5: Guardians" an interesting game-changer in the game series.

At the very least, fans can be certain of one thing: their thoughts and feedback about the Halo franchise is a valuable input for the developers.

"For us, it's almost a blank canvas. What are the stories we want to tell, how do we want to tell them, how do we use Halo to push the new platform?" said Ross. "It's also a time to listen to our fans and take their feedback on what's important to them going forward. It's about how do we start and where do we go on Xbox One?"

Clarification: That is Not Cortana

When Microsoft first showcased "Halo 5: Guardians" over at the Xbox Wire to signal the start of the Halo journey, there was an accompanying photo that featured a lone figure with a glowing blue visor helmet.

Given that there's absolutely no detail about the figure whatsoever as of the moment, it's not surprising that fans will start speculating about the character and who it could be. But the developer has already debunked all possible references to the old installments of "Halo" as well as provided a pretty good tease for the game.

"For everyone speculating about the mysterious Spartan in Halo 5: Guardians, he's not Palmer (or Cortana!). He's a NEW character. :)" said 343 Industries executive producer Josh Holmes over at Twitter as quoted by Game Informer.

First Concept Art for "Halo 5: Guardians" Revealed

Following the reveal of "Halo 5" Guardians" as an upcoming game for the Xbox One, 343 Industries has also showcased the first concept art for the title.

Xbox Achievements has managed to nab the image, which doesn't really tell a lot about the gameplay. It does showcase how the world looks like, which has hints of a desert-like environment and Star Wars-like architecture for the buildings.

Hit the link for the new concept art, and start the speculations on what kind of environment and inhabitants "Halo 5: Guardians" may hold in store.
