Miss Philippines, Miss Vietnam Making Waves in Miss Grand International
The first edition of Miss Grand International is going to be in 6 days time and the 74 delegates from around the world are gearing up for November 17 preliminary round. But out of 74 contestants who are in the pageant 2 contestants Miss Philippines and Miss Vietnam are making a lot of waves in Bangkok, Thailand.
The contestants started to arrive in Thailand's capital in November 3 as they warm up for the pre-pageant activities including a tour around Bangkok's famous sights and Thailand's old capital Chiang Mai. Since this is the pageant's first edition, the organizers aims to make Miss Grand International the world's leading international beauty contest through the government's support and private organization.
The winner of the pageant will have a new residence At The Tower in Midtown area of Bangkok during her reign and she will serve as an ambassador for peace to help eradicate violence and hostility around the world. Life is so much better when it's at peace and that's what pageant aims to achieve, to put an end all forms of violence and hostility and start living in a community where color and religion is not an issue.
Miss Philippines Ali Forbes
The first candidate to represent Philippines in Miss Grand International, Ali Forbes is making a lot waves in the pre-pageant round. She has been selected as part of the Top 10 of Best in National Costume and shortlisted as one of the Top 20 Best in Swimsuit contenders. Ali wore an attire with matching layers of "banga" or pots was the judges favorites and she keeps on shining amidst the sea of beautiful faces.
When it comes to international beauty pageant, candidates from the Philippines are always a top contender and Ali Forbes is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
Miss Vietnam Bich Khanh
Crowned as Miss Ngoi Sao (Star) Vietnam 2012, Khanh is the country's representative for the first edition Miss Grand International. The 21-year-old beauty queen stole the judges attention when she showcased Vietnam's national costume, the traditional long dress (Ao Dai) and traditional conical hat (Non La).
Her costume was designed by the famous Vietnamese designer Thuan Viet, where it features the beauty of Vietnamese silk and lotus - national flower.
