When the new Miss America Nina Davuluri was crowned on August 16, the 24-year-old beauty queen did not have the time to talk more interesting things about herself during the press conferences like being a true blue nerd and a number one fan of Jay-Z. Instead, the New York born winner was bombarded with a lot of racy criticisms with regards to her Indian-American descent.

ScienceFiction.com reports that Ms Davuluri became the instant target of harsh tweets saying she's a complete foreigner and worst, even a terrorist. Now, pushing all negative spirit aside, there is an interesting thing to know about the crowned Miss America winner. She's 100% nerd!

In one video, she said that she considers herself as some "kind of a nerd" for she loves Star Wars and anything that is of the sci-fi genre. As proof of her geeky background, a cosplay picture of Ms Davuluri emerged online recently.

In the picture, she was dressed as a Jedi with a costly Lightsabre that lights up true. Plus, she is concluded to be a genuine geek with a life size R2-D2 by her side.

In the meantime, Syracuse.com also mentioned how much the beauty queen is also such a fan of Jay-Z.

Ms Williams also gave Nina her personal phone number.
