Ever since Apple announced the newest OS at the WWDC event, the Mac OS X Yosemite beta download has been highly sought after. The demand for the latest Mac software is quite understandable because of the features like iCloud Drive and continuity that allows Mac to play nicely with the iOS 8.

Apple is offering the Yosemite as part of its public beta programme for anyone hoping to check out the Mac's new software this summer. But then again, that might still be a long wait for early adopters.

Where to get the Mac OS X Yosemite public beta

Although the Yosemite is already available, keep in mind that it is going to cost you. On its release however, the Mac OS X Yosemite will be available free to download, which means that if you are willing to wait a little longer, you can have the software for free. Moreover, it must be noted that early beta software comes with a higher risk of malfunctioning and crashing but if you really wish to have the software now, you can install it on a different partition.

How to get the Mac OS X Yosemite beta now:

You can join Apple's developers programme for $99 a year. You will be able to distribute apps through Apple and get access to pre-released software for testing purposes. The developer preview of Mac OS X Yosemite is meant to run as real software but software creators get a head start on making sure the app is compatible with the new OS on release date.

The Mac OS X Yosemite developer's preview is expected to be buggy, less stable and there are a number of features that will not be included just yet. However, if you can no longer wait for the official release of the software until this fall, you can either wait for the public beta this summer or get the Mac OS X beta download from Apple for $99 per year. On the other hand, there are also ways of finding the OS online that is not Apple approved but it is best to shy away from such.
