After being criticized for her weight gain, Lady Gaga backfires and asks why people didn't target Adele who is bigger than her.

Lady Gaga recently admitted that she gained weight and found herself thrown in the body image debate. And while she slammed her critics by saying that she is proud of her body, the eccentric singer put the spotlight on British singer, Adele.

During her interview with Stylist magazine, Gaga spoke about her weight gain and asked why people didn't target Adele who obviously weighs more than her.

"Adele is bigger than me, how come nobody says anything about it? She's so wonderful and I think her confidence is something I have to match. She has set the bar very high for a lot of women," she said of the British singer.

Lady Gaga also described how her mother called and asked her if she gained weight after several pictures of her were published online and on magazines.

"I was acutely aware of some photos on the internet - my mum called me and was like, 'Did you gain weight?' - everybody was telling me about it, and I didn't really care. But when I heard it was on the news, where they talk about wars, the economy crashing and the election - I just thought, 'This is f***ing ridiculous,'" she said.

"I mean, what kind of example is that to a young girl sitting at home? I thought, well I don't really care if they think I'm fat, because, quite honestly, I did gain about 30 pounds," she added.

Lady Gaga who is an advocate in promoting confidence in teenager started a new campaign which she called "Body Revolution." She said that she wanted her fans to embrace their flaws and their shape.

And while some people may not like her curvier figure today, she said that he boyfriend Taylor Kinney is a big fan of her figure. Well if her weight doesn't bother him, why would she be bothered anyway?
