Last Friday, Kris Humphries finally decided to end his feud with his wife for 72 days, Kim Kardashian. It was reported that the basketball player ended his legal battle with the reality star because he feels sorry for her.

Their divorce battle was a long and dragging, in fact it lasted longer than their official marriage. And on Friday, Kris decided that he had enough of the trouble. Well aside from feeling sorry for the pregnant reality star, he avoided going to court so that he could appear in the NBA playoffs for the Brooklyn Nets.

"At the end of the day, Kris is truly a good guy. Yes, he was angry at Kim for the way their marriage ended and he truly DID feel defrauded by her and the show," a friend close to the 28-year-old player said. "But lately, especially in recent weeks, he just feels sorry for her. She's pregnant and obviously under a lot of stress. He didn't want to be part of it anymore."

His friend also defended Kris and said that it was never about the money for the player. The source stated that Kris just wanted his name to come off clean.

"This was never about the money for Kris. He has plenty. It was about clearing his name. But I think he finally realized enough damage has been done on both sides and it was time to end the situation once and for all," the source added.

However, according to a Radar insider, Kris decided to wave the white flag because he knew he was not going to win over Kim. He didn't want his reputation as a basketball player to be compromised since he had no evidence that Kim Kardashian defrauded him.

"If the Nets advanced in the playoffs, the trial would have taken place during the games and basketball comes first for Kris," a source told Radar. "He also realized that he didn't have a chance in hell of proving that Kim defrauded him."

Well for whatever reason they both have, the news is a relief for the heavily pregnant Kim Karadashian. She is spared from legal woes, for now at least.
