Johnny Depp will play as James "Whitey" Bulger in a new film called "Black Mass." The story revolves around the story of the famed crime mobster-turned-fugitive. A recent photo that's circulating entertainment news shows Depp sporting a slicked-back, graying hair stern look with a matching black leather jacket.

The movie will chronicle Bulger's life events, who received two life sentences and five years last November after a jury has voted he had involvement in 11 out of 19 murders listed under his name.

The real Whitey Bugler was arrested in Santa Monica, California last Summer of 2011.

Whitey Bugler, born Sept. 23, 1929, is an American murderer and former organized crime syndicate. In 1975 Bulger became an informant to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). In exchange for his vital information of an Italian American crime family, the FBI turned a blind eye to Bugler's own crime organization.

Fast-forward to the present, Bugler was found and arrested in Santa Monica, with his girlfriend Catherine Greig. Bulger went on trial for 32 counts of racketeering, money laundering, weapon charges, and involvement in 11 murders. Bulger pleaded guilty to most of his crimes and is now detained at the United States Penitentiary in Tucson, Arizona.

Johnny Depp shares his thoughts on why he accepted the role of Whitey Bugler. "The reason to play him is obvious to me. He's a fascinating character. It's not like anything I've done before, on that level. I'm very excited to slide into that skin for a little bit," said Depp.
He continued, "I'm finding it difficult to call him Whitey," he said. "I'm doing a film called Black Mass where I play James Bulger," reported Collider.
