Although “Jessica Jones” has been considered as one of the less popular characters in the Marvel universe, the series has been very entertaining for those who have known her before the series debuted. The audience has been constantly treated to action-packed scenes and thrilling plot twists featuring the gorgeous, strong and whisky-drinking private eye.

Just when fans are raving for more, Kilgrave, her archnemesis, had already been defeated in season 1. Fortunately, the team behind the hit series have more under their sleeves for season 2.

Spoiler alert! This article contains “Jessica Jones” spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the new episode airs.

The fall of Kilgrave might even spell worse things to come. Executive producer Melisa Rosenberg tells EW that there will not be only one villain, but a lot of them.

When asked who the new antagonist will be, she responded “or antagonists, plural. No one is ever going to beat David Tennant as Kilgrave, so you don’t do that. The biggest mistake would be to try to repeat that. You just go OK, we’re not doing that, so we have this open to us.” When asked about who these villains will be, she just says “I can’t spoil a surprise.”

But, there are speculations as to who the bad guys on "Jessica Jones" will be.

The first could be Ruby Thursday. Since Rosenberg revealed that Trish will be seen more often, it could logically follow that a villain that her comic book counterpart has fought before could be introduced. Ruby Thursday has the ability to shape-shift her skull.

Next could be Jigsaw, which could be seen on “Jessica Jones” if it gets interwoven with the upcoming Netflix series “The Defenders.” While he is largely known to be a villain for the Punisher, he could just go trigger happy against all of Hell’s Kitchen’s defenders which would necessarily include Jessica Jones.

The third villain could be Nuke, who was already introduced previously. In the first season’s final episode, it was revealed to viewers that the war vet is taking part in some government sponsored program that gives him some pills. Those who are familiar with the comic book recognize these as his adrenaline pills, which he ends up crazy for and works for anyone who is able to supply him with such.

Netflix has yet to release an official date for the premiere of “Jessica Jones” season 2.
