In a latest interview in "The Hollywood Reporter" on their "Actors Issue," stars tell the magazine about their worst auditions and what actually happened.

Some of these well known stars certainly have a knack for funny auditions and one thing they want to tell aspiring actors is that they should always read the script.

Jake Gyllenhaal, who shocked the world in many of his movies such as "Broke Back Mountain" and "Love and Other Drugs," lost about 20 lbs in order to play a role in his latest movie "Nightcrawlers". The actor confessed in his interview with "The Hollywood Reporter" regarding his worst and very funny audition for the role of "Frodo Baggins".

If you are a "Lord of the Rings" fan, you surely know that the actor who played "Frodo Baggins" had an English accent. Well, Jake Gyllenhaal didn't know that in his audition he had to read the script in an English accent until the director of the movie, Peter Jackson, told him when he entered the room for his audition.

The star tells about his audition saying:

'I remember auditioning for The Lord of the Rings [the role of Frodo] and going in and not being told that I needed a British accent,I really do remember Peter Jackson saying to me, "You know that you have to do this in a British accent?" We heard back it was literally one of the worst auditions.'

"Magic Mike" actor Matthew McConaughey told about his turning down $15m just to be a dad and stay with his family and it helped because then he got the "Magic Mike" role.

'I looked around and said: "I'm paying rent; the kids are good. We got a son coming into the world. [Being a father is] a great job. Let me sit in the shadows for a while on my career side, And then, as the world works, some things started attracting me.

The "Magic Mike" star also talked about how he got the role suddenly:

I guess I became a good idea to some people. And I got a call from [Steven] Soderbergh [for Magic Mike]. Richard Linklater and I were another story: We were hitting baseballs in Texas, and he goes, "Hey, I got this script, Bernie." Things kind of boomeranged and came back to me. I got selfish, I guess, for myself, my own life.'

Other actors can be seen on the "Actors" issue of "The Hollywood Reporter".
