M.I.C. Gadget that a Foxconn plant is undergoing massive recruitment in order to meet production demand for the iPhone 5. The Foxconn plant at Taiyuan will be responsible for 85 percent of production of the iPhone 5 and his hiring 20,000 workers as hundreds of workers are striking.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) previously unveiled previous iterations of the iPhone at its annual Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. Apple defied tradition last year when it launched the iPhone 4S in October. The iPhone 4S had minor improvements to the iPhone 4 -- the new model didn't have any design changes and doesn't have 4G-LTE support. Apple could have a replacement to the iPhone 4S at this year's WWDC. Cult of Mac says that the Moscone Center in San Francisco is already booked for an event starting June 11. Given that the iPhone 4S appears to be an interim update to the prior model, a June launch -- instead of October -- appears to be likely.

South Korean media earlier reported that Apple is set to launch the fifth generation iPhone in the second quarter. The new iPhone, according to reports, will have a 4.6-inch display. The Maeil Business Newspaper, quoting an unnamed industry source, said Apple has started placing orders to suppliers.

Aside from a bigger 4.6-inch display, and a higher resolution "retina" display, the iPhone 5 is expected to have 4G LTE support, a new design, a quad-core processor, near field communications (NFC) support, and an iOS 6 operating system.
