A report from iSuppli suggests that Apple's iPad will continue to dominate the market of tablet personal computer until 2012. This means that no competitor has been able to surmount the tremendous success of Apple with its tablet PC which is popularly known as the iPad. Though many companies have tried to compete with iPad, their efforts have proven to be futile since none of them managed to come close in terms of sales with iPad.

By the end of the year, iPad would have been considered responsible for 74.1 percent of the sales of tablet personal computers. The remaining of this would be attributed to other older tablets. The forecast for next year would be 70.4 percent which is a slight decline but is still good for Apple. By 2010, the drop would be as much as 61.7 percent since more companies would produce other tablet personal computers to compete with the very well-known iPad. However, they should work harder for them to surpass the success of Apple's iPad.

It is true that it was only a few months since the iPad was released to the market but other companies who produce personal computers are keen on toppling down the iPad by coming up with their own respective versions of a tablet PC. For them to be able to do this though, they would have to do an abundant work and would have to wait for the iPad trend to fade.

The only serious rival of Apple is HP though it will take next year for them to come up with a tablet PC. The reason for this is that it was HP who owns the Palm's WebOS. Although India did metion its plan for a $35 tablet PC, it has yet to introduce any time pf release or even hardware spec and thus cannot be considered a valid competitor for now. Also, Lenovo's u1 laptop/tablet pc project suposedly aimed to be released this year had gone to the shelf. Possibly after receiving critisism regarding the processing speed of the "tablet mode" that gets people in the web saying "you're no ipad".
