When people talk about new generation tablets, then the gadgets iPad Air, Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 and Google Nexus 10 will always be included. All three are considered top of the line products from each of their corresponding brands while Google Nexus 10 is even rumoured to have a makeover this November of 2013.

Google Nexus 10

Since its introduction to the market in 2012, the Nexus 10 has been considered a highly innovative kind of tablet. At the time of its release, it was the first to have the highest display resolution. Its only flaw is its colour accuracy since it has a non-standard Intensity Scale. And if there's one thing that the 2013 Nexus 10 should improve on, it is this aspect.

iPad Air

Its in the improved weight, thickness and size that the main points of the iPad Air revolve around. With its switch for its display to the IGZO LCD, it is improved by about 57% to render power efficiency. This is why the iPad Air is not prone to getting all too warm when in use compared to the older generations.

iPad Air vs. Google Nexus 10

If you're really after something new, then the iPad Air will always be the winner. However, even if the Nexus 10 is not at all that new, it still has specifications that can keep up with the newest ones out there. For the build, the Nexus 10 is not as appealing and as light as the iPad Air. For display, both are tied up with almost the same specs but with storage, the Apple tablet is better for it can offer up to 6 GB. Both have fast processors, similar Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi connectivity too. And with its software, it's all up to you whether you want the iOS 7 from Apple or the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

iPad Air vs. Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9

In this face off, the iPad Air should be your choice if you are after a better display size but settle for Kindle Fire if it's the quality you are running after. The processor aspect has the faster one for that of the Apple but the Snapdragon 800 of Amazon is perfect for heavier kinds of tasks. The iPad Air may offer up to 128 GB but Amazon is more reasonably priced. For size and weight, the Amazon is more comfortable to handle and this goes the same with price which still has the Kindle Fire HDX as the all out winner. All in all, even a trusted reviewer like ZDNet went for Amazon Kindle Fire HDX.

iPad Air vs. Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 vs. Google Nexus 10: The Verdict

As verdict, the best tablet all depends on your personal priorities in terms of using a tablet. If you want to be trendy and remain an Apple fan, go for the iPad Air. If you don't mind having an old tablet that still works well, it's the Nexus 10 to go for. But if you want something that can work as good as the latest tablets but offered at an affordable price, look for nothing else but the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9.
