Apple released the iOS 8 for iPhone, iPad and iTouch. The iOS 8 update comes in at 4.6GB and requires quite a large space on the devices at 5.7GB to install it on an iPhone. Compared to the previous operating systems, the iOS 8 offers significant changes to the devices. iOS 8 features HealthKit which as its title implies, is a health oriented app to monitor fitness. Family Sharing allow users to share purchases from iTiunes, calendar information to a group of people. The iOS 8 has improved Notification Centre, Spotlight that allow users to search within the apps.

This is can be downloaded by going to the device's settings menu and selecting "software update". Users having limited WiFi access or have a restrictive data plan can download the latest iOS by connecting to the latest version of iTunes.

According to The Verge, as mentioned earlier, it requires up to 5.7GB of free space to install iOS 8 and sometimes it could take up to 7GB on some iPad models. Although it varies on the device, still it takes up larger free space compared to the previous download of iOS. Users having iPhone 5C or those that have the 16GB variant of iPhone will most likely encounter issues.

Users will need to delete a some data from the devices just to be able to download the latest version, but users can use iTunes client on Mac or PC to update the device. The iTunes will still require some amount of free space, but not as much as 5GB unlike the wireless method.

The new version of iOS allow users to download third party keyboard such as Swype, according to The Verge. iOS 8 will allow users to sync messages, phone calls, Skype and files across all owned iOS 8 device and Macs.

Another version of OS coming from Apple is reported to be released on Apple's next launch event on October 21, according to the Daily Dot. However, the date is still not certain and on this event, Apple is expected to release new models of iPads and release the OS X 10.10 Yosemite. It has been on beta stage since June.
