The final episode for American Idol just aired and though the topic of the new American Idol winner is a hot one, most people who watched the show are still talking about the duet performance of Jennifer Holliday and American Idol contestant Jessica Sanchez.

Duets were the theme for the show as American Idol contestants were paired with veteran singers to sing a song. Some people consider the performance between Jennifer Holliday and Jessica Sanchez as a "high point" of the show.

The two performed the song "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going," and their performance caused a flood of positive response through various social media networks.

Newsday, a New York-based newspaper described the performance stating that "It's pure divahood, power and emotion; this is going to be one of the most-viewed clips on YouTube on Thursday as they go back and forth, huge voices in full display".

On the other hand, Los Angeles Times shared their views about the performance saying that "it offered a glimpse into the future of Jessica Sanchez." The paper also added that "she's (Jessica) been a professional belter all season, hitting all the right notes with passionless precision.

Sanchez has been compared to a host of divas all season, but it's been impossible to get a read on her musical heroes. That's because Sanchez seems groomed for 'American Idol,' a vocal purebred whose mission in life was to compete on this show."

Jennifer Holliday is a Tony-Award winning artist and she played the original role of Effie White in "Dreamgirls" when it was first shown in Broadway in 1981. She also praised her duet partner, Jessica Sanchez though her official Twitter account describing the contestant as a "soul angel" and Jessica's rendition "truly touched her heart." Jennifer Holliday also encouraged other people to vote for her in American Idol.
