Despite her high-rating Disney show, “Lizzie McGuire,” Hilary Duff said her teenage years were not as happy as fulfilling as people assumed, especially during her late teenage years. She said she was trying too hard to be slim like her peers.

In an interview with People magazine, the mother of one recalled having a bad time trying to find a healthy place for herself during her late teenage years. She said she was trying to slim down so hard to be at par with her young co-stars that she became too thin. Her hands were cramping because she lacked nutrients. She also said she was so unhappy. She said nothing changed now. She said some young stars are still too thin. The scarier thing is that it is now “more normal” to be. She said this is crazy for her since she personally cannot be that way.

Now that she is a mother of a 3-year-old, she has a healthier perspective of her body. She said that she knows her post-baby body cannot go back to the way it was. She also added that she does not mind not being 110 lbs anymore because she is a 27-year-old mother and yet, feels fit. Unlike the days when she weigh 97 lbs, her thinnest, she now feels strong and happy as well.

Despite not being fond of her teenage years, she does have fond memories of “Lizzie Mcguire.” In an interview with Huffington Post, she said she is open to the idea of a reunion among the cast members. She said she had a lot of fun during the show and the fans were just as amazing. “Honestly, working on that show, I got so strong with my physical comedy and all the things that they would throw at me. I got covered in goo every week and I got, like, smashed in the face with a locker every single week,” she shared. She said obviously the fan base was a strong one and maybe a reunion would not be such a bad idea. She even thought of a possible title already: “Lizzie: Where Are You Now?”
