A new discovery has been made. Experts in astronomy announced the discovery of an uncommon planet. According to the astronomers the said planet has two stars. It is very similar to Tatooine in the sci-fi film "Star Wars". Using a $600 worth Kepler space telescope, National Aeronautics and Space Administration detected the said planet. Now the fantasy became factual. It is the first ever solar system of its kind that has been established.

The researchers said that this planet, having the same size with Saturn and was named Kepler-16b, circles the two stars in the constellation named Cygnus. It is happening every 229 days. Kepler-16b, which is 200 light-years away from Earth, has red and orange shadows shaded by the light of its twin stars. The temperature in this planet is at around minus 150 degrees Fahrenheit, considered much colder than the temperature in Antarctica.

One of the researchers who discovered Kepler-16b, Alan Boss stated in FoxNews.com "This is the first definitive case" Boss continued "People in the past have thought they saw instances like this. But there are other ways of explaining them. This is the first one where it's absolutely, quantitatively sure that this is what the explanation is"

The team consummated that this great discovery is almost like a gas giant. Because of the byzantine orbital dynamic of the system, the sunrises and sunsets are quite similar, according to Boss. Fred Rasio, an astrophysicist from Northwestern University said "Just anything you could think of as a planetary system is out there".

The scientists claim that this planet is habitable by earthling, but might not enjoy the double sunsets that happen on the planet. The two orbit stars of Kepler-16b are smaller compared to Earth's sun.

The discovery of the planet is not planned and not the primary goal of spacecraft Kepler that was launched in 2009. The main purpose of the mission is to discover orbiting stars of Earth-sized planets, similar to that in our solar system.

Kudos to our great astronomers and scientists for making a magnificent discovery.
