Halle Berry Pregnant at 46: ‘I Thought I was Too Old to Have Another Child’

After confirming that she is pregnant, Halle Berry has been more confident in showing off her growing baby bump.

The 46-year-old actress confirmed last week that she is pregnant with her second child. A day after her announcement, she arrived at the Pool Room event at the Four Seasons Hotel in New York City. Halle wore a black tight hugging dress that accentuated her growing baby bump.

While her fiancé Olivier Martinez sat the event down, Halle was accompanied by her famous designer friend Michael Kors. The actress attended the dinner event to be able to help the United Nations World Food Programme to fight world hunger.

During her interview with CNN regarding her unexpected pregnancy, Halle said that she feels fantastic and wasn't looking forward to getting pregnant considering her age.

"This has been the biggest surprise of my life, to tell you the truth. Thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it's been a big surprise and the most wonderful," the Academy Award winning actress said.

And when asked further whether she and Olivier are expecting a baby boy, she said that she doesn't know but assured that the baby is healthy.

At the moment, Halle and Michael Kors are planning to visit places where the meals will be sent. The two could probably find themselves in Africa, Syria and Central America.

"I hope we go while I'm pregnant, so I can talk about prenatal care," she said. "And I will have time off, I'm not working right now."

Halle who is a mother to 5-year-old Nahla said that she wanted to talk to mothers who are struggling to feed themselves and their children. She said that being mothers will help them build a connection.

"It's so important to me, being a mom, that I can help educate women on how important it is that when you have a healthy child, it helps set them up for life," Berry said.
