One of the greatest Australian weight loss stories that has been written about is that of Jordan Tirekidis. In 2012, he weighed a massive 310 kilograms. In a span of two and a half years, he lost 200 kilograms through hypnotherapy.

According to 9news.com.au's A Current Affair, the 47-year-old Australian, who was the heaviest man in Australia, had put on a huge amount of weight when he took over his family business. At that time, he indulged in convenient meals as well as fast food therefore, he piled up on a lot of kilos.

Because of his weight issues, he had faced a lot of problems. The front seat in his car had to be removed, so that he could drive. He had broken many chairs and beds because it was unable to bear his weight. He could not be weighed on a conventional weighing scales either and had to be weighed on commercial scales that were used to weigh trucks. All these little things that he faced led to the decision of a change.

Due to complications in his weight, when he approached medical professionals, he was told that he could die at any point. He met Mark Stevens, a motivational speaker and self-hypnosis guru, after which he decided to take a stand for his life and lose the excess weight he carried.

He told A Current Affair that the stress and the weight that he carried with him was unbelievable. He went on that he was sick as well as tired of being sick, so he decided that he had to something to reclaim his life.

He decided to live at Mr Stevens' Little Forest health retreat, which is located on the New South Wales South Coast. To strengthen his mind to stick to the task at hand, he underwent hypnosis and meditation several times a day. He said that the mind was the ultimate weapon when is battling the bulge. His exercise journey started off with two personal trainers helping him and then he began losing the excess weight.

He currently weights 107 kilograms. He said that he felt like a different person. He continued that he had done it the hard way. Before he began, he said that it felt like standing at the botton of Mount Everest and climbing up the mountain in thongs. Now that he was on the top, he said that the view was good.
