“Grand Theft Auto 6” may still be a little far off into the future, but there is no doubt that Rockstar Games will release it eventually -- not with the success of “Grand Theft Auto 5” to run on. Nothing official has come from the game publisher yet, but it is speculated that a lead female protagonist will finally be introduced into the mix.

With the release of “Grand Theft Auto 5,” the game developer has expanded the world of GTA exponentially. Moreover, it has moved the franchise to greater heights. The introduction of a female protagonist that will rule the game will only increase the popularity of the game. Some publications have claimed that the character will be voiced by Eva Mendes. But whoever voices the speculated persona, she is likely to come with an interesting -- perhaps criminal -- background and some amazing skills.

If Rockstar Games was to introduce gamers to a new female lead, it would be the first time in the history of the franchise to do so. But with the current trajectory of the game, “Grand Theft Auto 6” may be the perfect time to do so. The current following is loyal and a change in character looks to be a welcome change.

Other than a new lead, “Grand Theft Auto 6” is also expected to sport new weapons, cars and locations. Much like every new chapter that is added, the upcoming title is only expected to expand the GTA world further.

However, nothing has been officially put on the table as of now. WWG even reported that Rockstar Games’ head writer, Dan Houser, has claimed that the team has not put any plans into work yet. This includes location and characters, so the premise of “Grand Theft Auto 6” is still on the discussion table. Nevertheless, the fanbase seems ready and willing to explore the possibility of a female lead.
