Jane Lynch is heading to New York to join Carson Daly in his annual New Year's countdown show.

The actress who plays Sue Sylvester in FOX's hit series Glee tells Marc Malkin of E! Online about her newest gig during the TrevorLive event, where The Trevor Project awarded her with this year's Hero AWard.

'I'll be in the mix of it,' says Lynch. 'I'm going to be freezing my butt off like everybody else.'

She also reveals that she has never been in Times Square during the New Year, and so she is excited for her hosting stint.

'They say it's a real experience so I'm looking forward to doing it,' says Lynch further.

Aware of the competition between Carson Daly's show and CNN's New Year special with Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper, Lynch jokes about calling them out often during the show.

'I'm going to be calling Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper over all the time. We're going to have a friendly war going on.'

The year 2013 has been a good year for Lynch. Aside from her regular appearance in "Glee," she has also made her Broadway debut as Miss Hannigan in "Annie." Of course, The Trevor Project awarded her with the Hero Award. "Glee's" creator Ryan Murphy and Best in Show co-star Jennifer Coolidge honored her during the awarding, while the "Glee" cast serenaded her with the song "Smile."

'I'm really humbled by this,' said Lynch. 'This is a big deal. I love what these people have been doing for 15 years and I'm in awe of the fact that it's all volunteers and of all the kids who pick up the phone who have the guts to do that. It's a night about love and commitment. I'm so honored to be a part of it.'

Meanwhile, Lynch also reveals that she would love to sing "Vogue" again for "Glee's" 100th episode. FOX is currently doing a poll for the fans' most favorite Glee Song, and the top choices will be included in the remix that will be done for the special episode.

'Yeah, I'd love to,' she tells Marc. 'So if you wanna see Vogue then vote for it.'
