Fujifilm's new 3D Camera
There are so many kinds of digital cameras that are being sold in the market today. Most of these cameras, however, present the same features as the next best thing, so the idea of a camera that can provide something that other cameras can't, is tantalizing.
Cameras are also being used by a lot of people for personal purposes. This fact has recently prodded camera manufacturers into producing a variety of cameras that can be used by even the most average individual. As a matter of fact, cameras are being developed for both ease of use and functionality - which means that there are just so many different cameras these days. The question remains, however, in what really separates a camera from the rest of the market?
Owning a digital camera is, for many individuals, a great way of sharing with friends and family. Digital cameras remove the need for film processing, which makes it a quicker process overall. You can instantly see a picture that you just took just by pushing one button. Pictures that don't meet your standards can be deleted without any trouble. It also saves the person more money because having a digital camera eliminates the need for the purchase of films.
Digital cameras are good for storing pictures, unlike 35mm cameras where you have to print or develop pictures if you want to even take a look at them. They can even be used to record videos and voice, aside from being capable of taking pictures. In short, cameras today help people in saving their memories better.
However, if you are the type of person who likes taking candid pictures, you might find yourself frustrated by the fact that digital cameras experience a short time delay between pressing the shutter and taking the actual picture. Also, digital cameras can be costly. More improvements in digital camera technology will undoubtedly make them more expensive, after all.
The FinePix Real 3D W1, however, is different. It is the first camera that is able to capture 3D photos and videos. This was manufactured for consumers by Fujifilm. However, the camera never made it big in the United States. This was probably because of the high price of the camera ($600), and the fact that the photos and videos need a special 8-inch digital frame that almost has the same cost as the camera. It also needed a computer with an Nvidia 3D vision-ready graphic card installed.
An individual will also need to have special glasses to see the images, or buy a special set of lenticular prints. However, Fujifilm has recently come up with a new 3D camera that can take videos and pictures that are capable of being viewed in HDTVs that are 3D ready.
The camera is very portable, and weighs in at only 8.5 ounces. It can easily fit in a person's pocket, which means that it can be brought virtually anywhere you would want to go. This is very important for people who have active lifestyles.
Another impressive function of the camera is the fact that it can capture 3D videos just by the point-and-shoot option. It has a built-in Mini HDMI plug which can make the playback in an HDTV relatively easier, helping users share their videos without any hassle, and without buying something expensive just to see the 3D pictures and videos stored in the camera.
Compared to the considerably small 230,000 dots filled in the display of the W1, the W3 has over 11.5 million dots, giving it an unprecedented edge over the W1, which was released last 2009.
Fujifilm's W3 also lets you take photos in a 2D shooting option. A built-in chassis button will let you switch the shooting mode from 2D to 3D, and vice-versa. Its resolution is also higher than the W1, making the photos it takes high quality. There is also a built-in, updated Real Photo image processor that makes it capable of synchronizing shutter release in a 0.0001 second precision.
The lens zoom position can also be altered to one's benefit, and can be used to make a 3D video recording, since the camera has 720p high definition recording features. The 2D function of the W3 is also is capable of face detection and macro focusing.
One of the advantages of owning this camera is that its new LCD has been developed and improved. Its display won't need 3D glasses, which means that the LCD is bigger, brighter and boasts an improved color depth.
The W3 comes in at a cheaper price than the W1, hitting the market with an SRP of of $499.95, and is due to be released in September.
