An employee of Foxconn, a Chinese factory recently beleaguered by suicides and allegations of poor treatment of workers, fell from a high building and was killed.

The employee, a twenty-two year old woman, worked at the Kunshan factory in eastern Jiangsu province. An investigation is underway into whether she committed suicide or fell accidentally.

The fall occurred at a company dormitory. Foxconn has experienced 13 suicides this year from its employee base, either at Foxconn or associated plants. The woman worked in the packaging department for the company, which produces electronics for Hon Hai, its parent company. Hon Hai is an electronics maker that services Apple, Dell and Hewlet-Packard.

The recent suicides have brought attention to poor working conditions at the company and in China. Relatives of the dead employees claim that overwork due to difficult work schedules contributed to the deaths, though Foxcomm claims otherwise.
