There will be Chocobo racing in "Final Fantasy XV." Square Enix

Square Enix has released a new gameplay footage for “Final Fantasy XV” at the PAX West 2016.

The entire footage, seen below, shows off over 25 minutes of footage of the game alongside commentaries done by the developers. At the start of the footage, it shows Noctis and the gang riding the Regalia.

It’s here where the developer revealed that, as part of making the game even more realistic, the driving experience mimics real life in that there will be damages incurred on the Regalia if it is crashed into a surface.

Other aspects of the game that were highlighted in the footage includes the Chocobo racing, and it presents a nice little side activity that will also let players explore even more of the sights in “Final Fantasy XV.” The creators have played a race between Gladio and Noctis.

What’s nice about the side activity is that players will have a starting line and can even traverse shortcut paths. More importantly, fans will also have to manage the stamina of their Chocobos, as this can mean a lot for strategising how to win a race. It’s almost like doing a drift but ensuring that the Chocobos have the right amount of stamina to ensure there’s enough to finish the race.

Apart from the new gameplay footage, the developer has also shared some of its planned improvements for the game. According to DualShockers, “Final Fantasy XV” Game Director Hajime Tabata confirmed that both versions will be able to run the game near 30FPS once the game launches.

“When the actual consumers will have a chance to play the game, we don’t think they’ll find that to be an issue,” said Tabata to DualShockers.

And even though there will not be a lot of changes between what was shown off recently for the game and the release of the copy, there are slight improvements that fans can expect of the launch version. Tabata elaborated that some of the creators have been planning included better steering while driving, optimisations and game balances in the level system and improved navigation.

“Final Fantasy XV” will be out on the PS4 and Xbox One on Nov. 29.
