"Final Fantasy" fans will be up for another intense fighting experience as Square Enix just revealed the release date for the much-awaited steam version of "Final Fantasy XIII-2." The said announcement was revealed via new game trailer that also hints of new updates to come with the release.

PCGamer claims the release date for the PC version of "Final Fantasy XIII-2" was announced through a private video from Square Enix. The end scene from the game trailer below revealed the steam version will be released a month from now, on Dec. 11.

Interestingly, at the end of the trailer, "new features and enhancements" were mentioned. According to Gamespot, it's likely the second game installment will finally have graphic options. On the game's Steam page, Square Enix also addressed the addition of graphic updates to "Final Fantasy XIII-2." "The Final Fantasy XIII team have been working hard to improve your experience on Steam and we're happy to announce the following changes will be rolled out at the beginning of December," Square Enix said.

The release of "Final Fantasy XIII" for the PC in October brought limited to basic elements. According to Gamespot, it only featured difficulty options, subtitles and camera. Likewise, it was initially locked at a maximum resolution of 720p. A third party plugin allowed gamers to choose the high-definition gameplay of 1080p. However, this may soon change in a month's time. Square Enix recently wrote on its page that the changes that will be introduced in the "Final Fantasy XIII-2" update will include "custom resolutions up to 1080p and unspecified graphics options."

According to Inquisitr, another update would be the game's refresh rate. The PC release of "Final Fantasy XIII-2" will reportedly boast a refresh rate of 60fps. Likewise, the second installment's resolution will now be customisable. Unlike the previous game, which is locked at 720p, players will now have options to choose from either 720p or 1080p.

The site claims the release of "Final Fantasy XIII-2" for the PC will give players the convenience of switching character voiceovers between Japanese and English. This same update will also be applied to the game's accompanying subtitles.
