Ubisoft’s “Far Cry” series is known for a lot of things, including its arsenal of weapons, unique ways to dispatch enemies, a massive open-world and a brutal storyline. New reports claim that the upcoming “Far Cry Primal” will once again deliver a harsh and gripping story featuring violence and sex as themes.

The story of “Far Cry Primal” sets it apart from its predecessors as it brings players back into the prehistoric era wherein animals are part of the ongoing threat. Its premise puts players in the perspective of a primitive human hunter whose main goal is to survive.

The setting itself is open to a lot of possibilities when it comes to how brutal it could get. In fact, ESRB rates the game as M for Mature and notes that scenes of sex and torture will be involved, Kotaku reports.

“One cutscene depicts a character being held in a fire while screaming; another depicts Takkar tapping a hole in another character's skull as the man screams. Some scenes depict corpses in various states of mutilation: heads and torsos on spikes; ears cut off and kept as trophies; headless bodies lying in pools of blood,” described a Kotaku writer.

Aside from the already graphic depictions, the writer goes on to say that there are some scenes wherein the male genitalia is visible and sex is hinted at. It is no surprise for a “Far Cry” game to be graphic, but it seems Ubisoft has taken it up a notch with “Far Cry Primal.”

The complete tags of ESRB for “Far Cry Primal” include Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Nudity, Sexual Content, so a Mature rating is indeed fitting for the game. “Far Cry Primal” will launch on March 1, 2016 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
