Justin Bieber’s newly cut hair has cost the teen pop sensation thousands of fans who have adorned him as they could not admit the fact that the young innocent looking boy from Canada is now growing up along with his mature look.

This has stirred his millions of fans and thousands of them have expressed dismay over Justin’s popular hair, while some welcome the new hairstyle.

MTV News took to the street and asked his tween fans of how they felt about their idol’s new look.

"It's just beautiful," Christina explained of the old 'do to MTV news.

But she was quick to add if she preferred the new look to the old one. Christina said: "I liked him with his longer hair better. That's just who he was discovered as."

"He looks a little geeky," Sofia said of his famous original hairdo. "It's much better," she said of the cropped cut. "He doesn't look like my brother anymore. He looks five years older. He's so cute."

Though Catherine loves it, she has predicted that this may not be a welcome change for millions of Beliebers.

She said, "I like it, I think it looks good on him," Catherine said of Bieber's longtime haircut. But she pointed out that the new hair cut will have some impact of his adoring fans. "I like it better than the other one, but I think that a lot of his fans liked the [old] one. ... Everyone loves him for his hair and now he doesn't have it anymore."

For some newly coined words like Bieber Beliebers and Bieberville are not enough when Tiffany described of the old look as this: “I think it’s very Bieberish, I like that long swoop. It definitely works for him”.

But Justin’s hair was more than ‘Bieberish’ when MTV showed her the new look.

Blown away as MTV described Tiffany, she said, “Oh my god! It’s such a transformation! I just love it! He looks so much older.

Tiffany’s impression that Bieber got older with the new hair style is shared by Sofia who said: “It’s much better. He doesn’t look like my brother anymore. He looks five years older. He’s so cute”.

But for Coote, it was more than Bieber’s Bieberish hair. She claims she loves him not just for his locks. Cited by MTV, Coote said, "I think he [looks] sexy ... i don't love him for his hair... i love him because he is sweet, cute and perfect.”

Love it, hate it but the Bieber has brushed off all these reactions and has insisted when he surprised Ellen Degeneres on the show that he has done it for a good cause.

"Yeah," Bieber retorted when DeGeneres when asked of his reaction of the news that an estimated 7 million Twitter followers have freaked out when he ‘chopped away the tresses from his eyes and debuted a new look’.

"But I was like, I don't really care," he added as the studio fans were described shrieking and screaming uncontrollably.

Along with a lock of his hair, Bieber has given Ellen the green light to auction it off and so she could give the proceeds to charitable institutions.

"I'm giving pieces of it to different people," Reuters quoted Bieber telling DeGeneres during his surprised visit. "We're doing something special. We want you to donate it to whatever charity you want."

Reuters then described Degeneres putting his hair in a plexiglass box then asked Bieber to sign it before it was announced ready for auction Wednesday.

Bidding for the lock of his hair started at $10. As of Sunday it’s valued at $8,300. Auction ends on March 2. Proceeds for the teen pop sensation will go to The Gentle Barn, a California animal rescue organization.
