Fan Made Art Teases Tom Hardy's Look As 'The Punisher'

A fan made art showing Tom Hardy as “The Punisher” has the potential of convincing Marvel to hire the actor for the film as he totally looks suited for the part. Hardy recently expressed his interest to play as the titular character in a movie remake.
Instagram user bosslogix shared a photo of the actor as The Punisher. Tom Hardy looks so much like the assassin in this photo as he is drawn dressed in the character’s iconic all-black costume ensemble, including the black shirt printed with The Punisher’s trademark skull logo. The actor was also drawn with scars on his face and armed with guns strapped to his back and two pistols on each hand. Bosslogix captioned the image, “Here is the requested Tom Hardy #Punisher I really hope it does happen Marvel thanks to my homie @johnsonarmsprops for the guns.” The photo has since received over four thousand likes since it was posted on Wednesday, May 6.
The fan made photo circulated following Tom Hardy’s revelation that he wants to play Frank Castle a.k.a. “The Punisher” in a possible film remake. The actor was very specific when asked which superhero film he would want to do. “I want The Punisher… I want The Punisher, or Splinter Cell, “he said during an interview with Collider about his new film “Mad Max: Fury Road.”
However, Tom Hardy also shared his doubts on grabbing the role because of his height. The actor jokingly said the he’s “not big enough to be The Punisher, I’m 5’9.” But he nevertheless admitted that he would still “love’ to play the character.
Tom Hardy definitely falls short in the height category among the previous actors who played as The Punisher. According to Movieweb, if Hardy is cast he will be the shortest. Ray Stevenson reportedly stands six feet and four inches tall, Thomas Jane at five feet and 11 inches while Dolph Lundgren stands six feet and five inches tall. However, Hardy’s amazing resume of action movies also gives him an edge to land the part. He even received praises for his portrayal of the villain Bane in “The Dark Knight Rises.” According to Collider, Tom Hardy has “the intensity and intimidating attitude” that characterises The Punisher.
