This week marks the 34th year of death anniversary of the King of Rock and Roll. But a report by the Associated Press says that thousands of Elvis devotees have something else to celebrate as they remember the singer on the day of his death on August 16, 1977.

Talking to a music producer and an Elvis catalog expert, the AP said that this year marks another milestone for Elvis.

In 1956, the first two Elvis albums were released - - paving way not only for the King of Rock and Roll's international music career. These two albums, noted AP also served as gateway for a music genre that begun as Elvis became a household name. 55 years ago, Elvis brought the kind of music America and the whole world would embrace - - the mix of country, rhythm and blues - - that fans worldwide would die for as they have never been prepared for as they were never ready for Elvis.

"It's a documentation of what I think is rock music's most incredible year," the AP quoted Ernst Jorgensen as saying. Jorgensen is a music producer and Elvis catalog expert.

"Nobody was prepared for Elvis," he asserted.

A five-CD album of Elvis, assembled by Jorgensen, is also set for release on Sept. 27. Entitled, “Young Man with the Big Beat”, the five-CD box set will be unveiled Monday at the Graceland. This is in time for the main event on “Elvis Week” on Tuesday midnight - - a candlelight vigil at the Graceland.

Elvis Aaron Presley was born on January 8, 1935 to Vernon and Gladys Presley in Tupelo, Mississippi. The King of Rock and Roll as he later became, has twin brother, Jessie Garon, was stillborn, leaving Elvis to grow up as an only child.

He began his singing career in 1954, with the legendary Sun Records label in Memphis. A year later, RCA Victor bought his recording contract in 1955. Shortly after that, Elvis has become an international sensation the world was never really prepared for.

His online biography noted that "with a sound and style that uniquely combined his diverse musical influences and blurred and challenged the social and racial barriers of the time, he ushered in a whole new era of American music and popular culture."
