Eight youths managed to escape from the Cavan Training Center on Monday 7 p.m. Initial investigations indicated that they may have planned for the break out for days.

The eight youths may have been slowly cutting the fence for several days before they have finally decided to pursue the escape out of Adelaide's training center.

During the night of the incident, all of them were asked to participate in a recreational activity wherein everybody was assigned to a specific unit courtyard according to Ian Hunter, South Australian Youth Minister.

One of the youths assigned to one of the units suddenly made a distraction. When staff attempted to respond, the youth from the other courtyard unit started to run off.

A staff from the training center tried to run after those who escaped from the first unit, while a few from the second unit began to break out.

The eight youths probably used a hacksaw to destroy the fence. Mr. Hunter said they have access to the tool whenever workshops are conducted in the facility.

Metal working workshops prompted them to use hacksaw blades. Mr. Hunter said that could be the perfect moment for them to use the blades to cut the fences. But he knew that all of them will be checked when they come back from the event.

So, the question about how these escapees managed to get hold of this tool, despite the checking process made by the staff, for their plan of break out will soon be answered by ongoing investigation.

Escapees, however, were captured by police except for one. Authorities are currently hunting for the last escapee, 17-year-old Shane Henderson. Shane was recognized as someone with a Caucasian look.
