Australian boxer Daniel Geale is gearing up for his upcoming match with Englishman Darren Barker to defend his IBF Middleweight World Title for the first time in American soil.

Since the announcement of his fight with Barker on Wide World of Sports on May, Geale has embarked on a series of trainings to enhance his physical and mental stamina.

In an effort to create more buzz, the Middleweight World Champion has been updating his fans through his social media accounts on Twitter and Facebook.

On Friday morning, Aug 9, the 32-year-old announced that he was into the last of his training sessions in Australia and that everything has been going according to what was planned. With only nine days to go before the big day, the Aussie will be flying to America today to continue his training there.

After thanking his fans for the overwhelming support, he also stated in the same post that from today, a couple from his team are taking over his social media accounts.

According to his Facebook page, he and Darren Barker will also be hosting a New York Media workout at Mendez Boxing Gym on Monday, Aug 12, 11:30 am.

The said fight will be held in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on Sunday, Aug 18 - 11:30 am. (New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Australian Capital Territory), 11 am (South Australia), 9:30 am. (Western Australia).

Daniel Geale's record shows that he has currently 29 wins with 15 KO's and 1 loss with zero draws. It can be remembered that Geale has recently come out victorious from a rematch between him and long-time rival Anthony Mundine in January, who stripped him of his IBO middleweight title in 2009.
