British post-punk legends The Cult returns to Australia for their 'Electric 13 World Tour. The seminal band is scheduled to perform at Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne In September and October.

This will be the first time that the band will play their influential third album, 1987's Electric, in its entirety. Electric became the band's first platinum record produced by Rick Rubin, who is more recognized for producing hip hop albums of artists such as Run DMC, Public Enemy and The Beastie Boys.

"The Cult's life blood has always been playing live, we are between albums and decided to continue the momentum created by CHOICE OF WEAPON, stay in people's hearts and minds. As LOVE LIVE was such an incredible experience we have decided that performing the ELECTRIC album, an event that has been demanded by our fans and followers as the perfect live set to play in 2013," Frontman Ian Asbury said in an interview with DC101.

Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy are the longest-serving members and chief songwriters of The Cult. Their current line-up includes bassist Chris Wyse, drummer John Tempesta and rhythm guitarist Mike Dimkitch.

Aside from playing the entire Electric album, The cult will have a second set to play songs from their other eight studio albums.

The band will release a two-disc set on July 30th, titled Electric Peace, which combines songs from the Electric LP and Peace albums; and other b-sides and EP tracks.
