Cory Monteith may not be the best singer in the world, but he could have definitely been the best drummer who proved to be a true musician at heart. Monteith, who was found dead in his room in Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel at Vancouver on Saturday, was the drummer for the indie rock band Bonnie Dune.

The late actor played drums and sang backup vocals for Bonnie Dune. The California-based band was formed in 2005 when Justin Wilczynski, the band's vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Jason Massey began recording music together inspired by their west coast lifestyle.

Wilczynski was with Monteith in the MTV show Kaya who then invited the Glee star to join the band as drummer. Massey now serves as the band's producer and their current lineup are Wilczynski, Monteith, guitarist Seth Roberts and drummer Josh Kerr.

According to an interview with the vocalist last January, Bonnie Dune was set to release their album this year. The band has released several singles and an EP titled The Lost EP in 2012. Their single "Endless Summer" has been the most recognized song from the band.

Bonnie Dune has just finished wrapping up the music video for their song Strange Ways last month. On July 1, the band tweeted a photo of their video as a sneak peak.

Bonnie Dune's The Lost EP is available on iTunes. The Lost EP's tracklist are:

1. Sea Sick
2. Sailboat
3. Better View
4. Strange Ways
5. Haunting
6. Quiet Confidence
7. Keep Me
8. Something More
