Check Point Software announces record earnings
Company made over $261.1 million
Check Point Software, a software security company which developed the Software Blade architecture and the well-known ZoneAlarm security platform, announced a record profit for the second quarter ending June 30, 2010.
Gil Shwed, the company's Chairman and Chief Executive, released a statement revealing that the company made over 261.1 million, a 17 percent increase over the last record set based on generally accepted accounting procedures, or GAAP.
Shwed credited strong growth in sales and product revenues in its main product lines for the jump, which exceeded the company's previous predictions.
The company's products are geared toward organizations that need customizable security solutions, focusing on protection from spyware, hackers and identity theft. It also focuses on providing unified data, network and endpoint security. Check Point's early ventures included FireWall-1. More recently it has acquired Boston's Liquid Machines, improved its security platforms, and introduced a new consumer edition of ZoneAlarm.
