Caitlyn Jenner could face a misdemeanour vehicular manslaughter charge over a car crash earlier this year near the Pacific Coast Highway that left one woman dead. The reality star recently opened up about the accident and candidly recounted her side of the events.

The 65-year old talked about the tragic car crash during an exclusive interview with Today’s Matt Lauer on Monday over a round of golf in Los Angeles. Caitlyn, formerly Bruce Jenner, has undergone a sex change and fears that if found guilty of the charge she could end up a year in a men’s jail.

“The media wants that picture, don’t they? That is the worst-case scenario…The men’s county jail. That’s the scary part. It is an enormous problem that they would put trans women in a men’s county jail but those are things we’ll look into,” Caitlyn tells Lauer in the video below.

When asked to recall the accident, the reality TV star admits her memory of the car crash in February near Malibu, CA is foggy. Caitlyn adds he can’t really talk much about the accident because of the litigation saying, “I remember it happening that’s about it.”

Despite remembering little of the accident, Caitlyn acknowledges he’ll never get over the tragedy. However, he’s trying to move on and “live with it the best” that he can.

According to Mirror UK, the terrible accident also left seven people injured. Speed limit was believed to be the reason for the four-vehicle crash. However, Jenner slammed reports claiming he was over speeding and tells Lauer, “No, I was under the speed limit I was going 46 and a 50 and my airbag didn’t even go off.”

The former Olympian also shared her thoughts about the Caitlyn Jenner men’s Halloween costume being sold by Spirit Halloween that mocks Jenner’s Vanity Fair wardrobe. According to Mediatite, the costume immediately drew controversies since it reportedly associated Jenner’s transition into a woman as a celebration of darkness. However, Caitlyn tells Lauer in the interview that he doesn’t find the costume offensive. He says he was actually “in on the joke” and even jests about the lack of bust volume in the costume compared to her Vanity Fair outfit.

Caitlyn ends her interview with Lauer on a good note, saying, “you gotta enjoy life…life’s too short.”
