‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ season 4, episode 6 spoilers, recap: The squad prepares for a wedding on ‘Monster in the Closet’

Adrian Pimento (Jason Mantzoukas) returns and the Nine-Nine squad helps him and his girlfriend Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz) on their rushed wedding on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 4, episode 6 (Brooklyn Nine-Nine 4x06).

Spoiler alert: This recap contains plot details about season 4 of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” The fourth season premiered Sept. 20. The series is available for Australian viewers to watch on SBS every Wednesday at 8:00 p.m.

Adrian Pimento is back at the Nine-Nine precinct after being imprisoned in Uzbekistan. After making out with Diaz in one of the station’s rooms, they decide to get married the next day. The couple assigns Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero) to facilitate the wedding and she happily accepts.

Santiago individually designates certain wedding tasks to members of the squad while Pimento asks Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) and Gina Linetti (Chelsea Peretti) to accompany him to a faraway pawn shop to reclaim his grandmother’s ruby earrings. When they get to the place, it was already burnt down. Pimento says he’d call off the wedding if the earrings are not found. Pimento, Peralta and Linetti then track down the former owners of the shop and steal the earrings from them. Peralta’s car breaks down while they try to escape so the trio is forced to take a plane back to Brookyn with Pimento handling flight controls.

Diaz, meanwhile, gets herself drunk along with Charles Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio), Sergeant Terry Jeffords (Terry Crews) and Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher). Peralta and Santiago then realise that Pimento and Diaz don’t really want to get married. They both talk to the couple and the wedding ultimately gets cancelled. Pimento and Diaz say that although they do love each other, they still want to spend more time with one another and go on an actual date before tying the knot.
