Bligh to publicize a report on Qld health payroll system
Queensland Premier Anna Bligh commits to release a preliminary report on Monday about the health's payroll system of Queensland to the public.
Ms. Bligh said a more detailed research by consultants KPMG is yet to come but will only produce a preliminary report to let the public know the issue at hand.
“What cabinet we'll be seeing is a preliminary report from KPMG and that will be released in full,” Ms Bligh told reporters.
“There will be a much more comprehensive report that goes into the background over the last 12 to 18 months that really looks at all the decisions in relation to this system and that will take a bit longer. “
In mid-April, accounting consultants KPMG was authorized by the government to probe the foul-up of Queensland health payroll where tens of thousands of staff were either underpaid, overpaid, or unpaid after the commencement of the new payroll technology in March.
Ms. Bligh said the report will give them an insight on what was being done and what are the things to be changed or implemented to stabilize the health payroll system
She stressed the need to replace the system and not return to the old one.
